Police captures a Maute group terrorist in Cubao
A member of the local terrorist group Maute was captured by police operatives on Monday in Quezon City.
Police Director Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, National Capital Region Police Office Regional Director, said the quick response of the operatives of NCRPO-Regional Police Intelligence and Operations Units (RPIOU) resulted in the arrest of Unday Macadato at around 4:55 p.m. in Felix Manalo Street in Cubao.
The police raided the area after receiving a text complaint from a concerned citizen of an armed man threatening bystanders and his neighbors.
Macadato was arrested for illegal possession of firearm and explosive. The investigation showed that Macadato was an alleged Maute member and was listed in the Martial Law Instruction No. 1.
Cascolan thanked the public for their continued trust and confidence in the police. He stressed the significance of partnership between the public and the police.
He also said the swift reporting of significant information of the public to the police and the quick and appropriate response of the police had yielded eventually yield positive results.
